Former Morbid Angel guitarist Richard Brunelle dies at 55.

Sad, sad news. Richard Brunelle, co-founder of Morbid Angel died on September 23rd 2019. The cause of his death is still unknown. The Agoraphobic News team sends condolences to his family and loved ones. This is a huge loss for the whole death metal scene. Richard Brunelle was in Morbid Angel since 1986 and he appeared on numerous demo releases: „Scream Forth Blasphemies“, „Bleed for the Devil“, „Total Hideous Death“, „Thy Kingdom Come“. He is best known for playing on Morbid Angel’s two classic albums: Altars of Madness and Blessed are the Sick.  His work was also incorporated in Abominations of Desolation album (band’s early recordings).  Richard Brunelle also played guitar in Tampa Florida death metal band Paths of Possession on the 2002 album Legacy in Ashes and on a 2003 split release titled Crypt of Madness by Paths of Possession/ Dark Faith.  He left his mark on 2 timeless death metal albums that will make him immortal. He was only 55. He will be missed.
