The world is getting smaller....Frontman of Prodigy, Keith Flint, was found dead in his home in Essex on March 4th. He was 49 years old. According to Liam Howlett, Keith took his own life. "The news is true, I can't believe I'm saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend," he wrote. "I'm shell shocked, fuckin’ angry, confused and heartbroken….. R.I.P brother” stated Liam. The Essex policeman on duty reported: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday…We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.". The band Prodigy released a statement regarding the loss of Keith: "It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time."
Keith Flint was the iconic figure of Prodigy. He was in the band from the start, and left his fingerprint on every Prodigy studio release: Experience (1992), Music For Jilted Generation (1994), The Fat of the Land (1997), Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (2004), Invaders Must Die (2009), The Day is my Enemy (2015), No Tourists (2018). We will always remember how Prodigy stormed Kalemegdan Fortress at Warrior’s Dance festival and their ground-shaking performance at Exit festival! Agoraphobic News sends condolences to his family, loved ones, the band and the Prodigy fans. RIP KEITH FLINT!
