Marsha Zazula, the co-founder of Megaforce Records dies

We are deavstated to hear that Marsha Zazula, the co-founder of Megafoce Records died. She was only 68. The cause of death was cancer. Marsha Zazula’s daughter Rikki Zazula stated the following via her Facebook account:

"RIP Mom April 21, 1952 -January 10, 2021 Your love, Your strength, Your memory and Your music has changed lives and will continue to FOREVER.

Metallica also paid respects to Marsha:

 "Rest In Peace, Marsha. Thank you for everything. Much love to @thejonzazula & the Zazula family.”

Members of Anthrax also paid tribute to her:

"It's with much sadness that we hear of the passing of Marsha Zazula. A true pioneer along with Jonny Z. Those two were responsible for changing all our lives. Hard to put into words what a world this might be without their belief and dedication to metal and all of us. Our love to her family."

Megaforce Records is one of the most influential US thrash metal labels that launched the careers of many legendary bands such as Metallica, Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, Stormtroopers of Death, as well as Ace Frehley, Raven, Ministry and others.

 

Marsha Zazula was the executive producer on the following albums: Anthrax – State of Euphoria, Penikufesin EP, Persistence of Time, M.O.D. – U.S.A. for M.O.D., Gross Misconduct, Rhythm of Fear, Overkill – Feel the Fire, !!!Fuck You!!! EP, Under the Influence, The Years of Decay, Horrorscope, Raven – Stay Hard, S.O.D. – Speak English or Live (Video), Live at Budokan (video), Testament – The Legacy, The New Order, Live at Eindhoven.

John and Marsha Zazula were responsible for releasing classic metal albums such as: Metallica – Kill ‘em All, Ride the Lightning  Anthrax – Among the Living, State of Euphoria, Merciful Fate – Melissa, Overkill – Feel the Fire, Taking Over, Under the Influence, The Years of Decay, Horrorscope, S.O.D. – Speak English or Die, Testament – The Legacy, The New Order, Practice What You Preach, Souls of Black, Vio-Lence – Eternal Nightmare, Oppressing the Masses etc.
