Under Belgrade sky we shall Arise! Interview with Igor Cavalera of Cavalera Conspiracy/ex-Sepultura!

Igor Cavalera is one of the most influental and innovative drummers when extreme music is in question. As a founding member of the biggest Brazilian metal act, Sepultura, Igor had rewritten the rulebook of extreme drumming  on many ocasions. His classic thrash/death approach combined with various samba, latino and tribal experimentation reminds us that metal music shouldn’t be as sterile as it is nowadays. I was expecting Max Cavalera, his brother to show up  as well but  he wasn’t able to. However,  the interview went just fine with a little bit of improvisation on the spot.  In a 20 minute talk, Igor discussed Sepultura’s adventure  during the Yugoslav Civil War, his influences, Phil „Philthy Animal“ Taylor, Lemmy,  dictatorship years in Brazil, Cold War, Arise and Territory videos, Sepultura’s meeting with the Xavantes tribe and much more!
